The fee for Bite Splint Therapy is a function of time and laboratory costs.

Phase 1 - Careful fabrication, fitting and initial maintenance over 1 week post fitting including laboratory costs £595

Phase 2 - maintenance and re-evaluation over a period up to 3 months after initial fitting £545

There are of course patients who have a simpler requirement for the placement of a bite splint only, in the absence of wider ranging signs and symptoms. In such cases, we simply place and establish the wearing habit of the splint, but then do not take the matter any further. The cost of the appliance reflects the level of precision involved. This in turn makes for an aid, which is very wearable as opposed to some of the cumbersome attempts of the past!

Such patient groups would include:

• Habitual night time tooth grinders
• Known 'clenchers'
• Those who have a need to protect restorative dentistry against excessive loal
• Those who wish to protect periodontally compromised teeth against excessive load
