THE advanced tooth whitening system
Whitening of teeth is an increasingly common aspect of dentistry which has found great favour all over the world, and is becoming more popular here in the United Kingdom. It is generally understood that certain liquids or substances, if used over the years can often impart a yellow hue to the teeth. Those who drink copious amounts of tea, coffee, red wine, or who smoke regularly, will find that their teeth are not as pristine as they should be. A procedure which can overcome these colour changes without resorting to invasive placement of veneers is to be welcomed.
Here at The Private Treatment Centre, we approach whitening in a comprehensive manner, and undertake the following procedures:
- Examination and records
- Professional cleaning with dental hygienist [Optional]
- Dental moulds and fabrication of mouth trays - but don't worry! These are very small, and only intended to allow you to carry the process on at home for as long as you wish.
- Supply of instructions and bleaching materials
- Review appointment [Optional]
- Recommendation [Optional]: follow up toothpaste and electric toothbrush systems. 3 minutes with a properly conceived electric toothbrush has to be better than 45 seconds by hand!
PROBLEMS
- It is possible that the appearance of some front fillings may change. We would advise you of the best course of action to remedy this
- If you suffer from a degree of receded gum tissue, this can lead to a short-term sensitivity of the teeth. However, this can be remedied by using appropriate toothpaste as recommended by either Dr Lister or one of our Dental Hygiene Team
- Failure to take care by following the instructions exactly during application of the gel can lead to a localised gum soreness, and occasionally mouth ulcers. There is little point in rushing the treatment, as this will not lead to a satisfactory result. By the same token, leaving the bleaching materials on for longer than instructed may cause soreness, and is not necessary.
THE COST
Our charge for the procedure is as follows:
- Fabrication of moulds and home whitening trays
- Dentist fitting, and follow up review
- Power Whitening of upper and lower dental arches

TOTAL: from £595
DISCLAIMER - sorry, there have to be some!
