How we're reducing risk of infection

To comply with the new regulations around hygiene and cleanliness in dental practices as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the practice has recently invested in some additional air purification equipment to keep our patients and staff safe.

The VacStation Extra-oral Dental Suction System has been developed to reduce the potential risk of particulates (such as those found in saliva, blood and the necessary aerosols that dentistry makes use of) which can cause infection. The unit uses multiple filters to purify the air it draws away from patients, dentists and nurses, reducing the risk with a > 99% efficiency (1).

The device sits in front of the patient, drawing away aerosols, particulates and airborne pathogens, whilst giving dentists and nurses the necessary space to work. See our video below for a demonstration of how efficiently the VacStation draws away aerosols and particles.

Alongside the VacStation, we have also invested in new ultra-violet air purification units that will be running constantly, ensuring the best air quality possible for our patients and staff.

Finally, we have sourced a large stock of face masks, visors, gowns, shoe covers and aprons to reduce any potential risk of infection further still.
