Firstly, we would like to thank all our patients for being so understanding during what is a difficult time for everyone.
We are still awaiting guidelines on when we can return to providing dental services to our patients and what those guidelines will suggest as new treatment protocols. What is becoming apparent is that the way we operate will be different. However, in dentistry we have a long history of patient and team protection and the measures being suggested are an adaption of what we do on a daily basis. Therefore, I feel we should all be able to adopt new protocols quickly.
Our aim, as health care providers, is always the wellbeing of our patients and the staff members that look after them. Please rest assured that we will take every precaution necessary to ensure a safe environment for all.
I suspect (but do not know) that the most likely time we can return to our practices would be early July (depending upon overall levels of community infection) and we are looking to make sure we have everything in place by then. We will need a suitable level of PPE and once the demand on hospital requirements has reduced, we should gain access to such supplies (much of it we use routinely anyway).
As we look to return to work, we will prioritise those patients who are mid-treatment or have acute problems and will be in contact as soon as we know a definite date we can restart. In the meantime, please follow the guidelines and phone number provided on this site if you have a dental emergency.
Again, thank you for your patience and understanding and rest assured that we will look after you all in future with the highest level of care possible.
Take care everyone.
